AI as a Career Co-Pilot: Interactive Session with Young European Ambassadors and Young People Across Europe
On 25 March 2026 at 19:00, the European Centre of Excellence (ECE Brussels), in cooperation with the Young European Ambassadors (YEA) Community, represented by Sara Bartoli, will organise an interactive online session titled “AI as a Career Co-Pilot: Practical Strategies for the Next Generation.”
The session will be led by Bojan Kordalov, Director for Policy and Communication at ECE Brussels and EU Senior expert in strategic communication, EU visibility digital transformation and AI literacy, together with Sara Bartoli, Young European Ambassadors Community Manager.
Bringing together young people from across Europe and EU candidate countries, the session will focus on the key question: How can young professionals use AI as a tool for growth, rather than perceive it as a threat?

From uncertainty to opportunity: understanding AI in career development
The session will explore the rapidly evolving role of artificial intelligence in shaping communication careers and professional pathways. Participants will gain insights into how AI is already influencing decision-making, content creation and expectations in the labour market, especially in the field of communications.
A central message of the session will be clear: AI is not replacing professionals, but it is reshaping the skills required to remain relevant.
Quick Q&A: Navigating Your AI-Enhanced Career
Insights from Bojan Kordalov, Director for Policy and Communication at ECE Brussels
Will AI eventually replace my role in communication or project management?
Kordalov: AI is a tool, not a replacement for human connection. It can draft content, analyse data, or support decision-making, but it cannot replicate ethical judgment, cultural understanding, or strategic empathy. The professionals who will stay relevant are those who know how to combine AI efficiency with human insight.
How do I start using AI if I feel overwhelmed by the number of tools available?
Kordalov: Don’t start with tools, start with your daily workflow. Identify one repetitive or time-consuming task, such as summarising notes or drafting content, and use AI to support your first step. The key is to shift your mindset from “Which tool should I use?” to “Where can AI support my work in a meaningful way?”
Is it “cheating” to use AI in my professional work?
Kordalov: Not at all, if it is used responsibly. AI should be your co-pilot, not your replacement. You remain accountable for the final message, the accuracy, and the ethical dimension of your work. Using AI properly is not cheating, it is becoming more effective and better prepared for the future of work.
What is one skill young people should focus on to stay relevant in the AI era?
Kordalov: AI literacy. Not just technical knowledge, but understanding how AI shapes information, decisions, and communication. Combined with critical thinking and media literacy, this becomes a foundation for both professional success and active participation in society.
What can participants expect from this session with ECE Brussels and the Young European Ambassadors?
Kordalov: Together with Sara Bartoli and the Young European Ambassadors community, we aim to create a practical and interactive space. This is not a lecture. Participants can expect real examples, open discussion, and concrete takeaways they can immediately apply in their studies or careers.
Who is Bojan Kordalov and what is his role in artificial intelligence and communication?
Bojan Kordalov is a Brussels-based EU senior expert in strategic communication, EU visibility, digital transformation and AI literacy who currently serves as Director of Policy and Communications at the European Centre of Excellence (ECE Brussels). His work focuses on supporting institutions, professionals and young people in understanding how artificial intelligence is reshaping communication, decision-making and public engagement. Through training, policy work and public speaking across Europe and EU candidate countries, he promotes a practical, responsible and human-centred use of AI in professional and societal contexts.
What to keep human, what to delegate to AI?
Through practical examples and real-life scenarios, participants will be introduced to a balanced approach to AI use in everyday work:
Keeping human judgment, creativity and ethical decision-making at the core.
Delegating repetitive, analytical, and time-consuming tasks to AI.
Using AI to enhance productivity while maintaining authenticity and credibility.
The A.I.M. model (Analyse - Integrate - Market) for career development, professional visibility and building digital identity through the ethical use of AI tools authored by Bojan Kordalov.
The session will emphasise that understanding how to work with AI is becoming a core competence for young professionals across sectors.
“The goal is to transition from being merely ‘prompt-oriented’ to truly ‘mindset-oriented’ or using AI to amplify our human potential rather than replace it”, explains Kordalov. For more practical information, what to keep human and what to delegate to AI, see Bojan Kordalov’s framework principle for professional growth in AI era at the end of this news article.
AI literacy as a foundational skill for all generations
The discussion will also highlight the growing importance of AI literacy as a key component of education and employability, aligning with broader EU digital standards like the EU AI Act and the Digital Services Act (DSA) to ensure a safe and transparent information space.
Participants will be encouraged to stay adaptable and continuously learn, approach AI with curiosity instead of fear, as well as to continue developing critical thinking, media, digital and AI literacy skills alongside technical understanding and AI trends.
