Key International Engagements

The European Centre of Excellence (ECE Brussels) is a Brussels-based think tank contributing to international conferences, policy dialogues, and expert forums in the areas of strategic communication, digital transformation, AI literacy, and EU integration.

In March 2026, ECE Brussels contributed to the WETM-IAC Conference in Sofia, an international event bringing together over 150 decision-makers and experts from more than 45 countries. Bojan Kordalov, Director for Policy and Communication at ECE Brussels, delivered two keynote interventions on artificial intelligence, youth engagement and communication in the digital era. The engagement also included more than 50 bilateral meetings and mentoring exchanges with international stakeholders.

ECE Brussels contributes to discussions on artificial intelligence, digital skills, and innovation through expert sessions and public events. In February 2026, ECE participated in the Education and Career Fair 2026, delivering sessions on learning, working, and communicating in the age of AI. The Centre also contributed to WITCON 2025 (Women in Tech Conference), focusing on gender equality, digital inclusion and the ethical development of AI in Europe. In addition, ECE Brussels contributed to the EU Cassini Hackathon, supporting innovation and entrepreneurship through the use of EU space data in cooperation with regional partners.

In March 2026, ECE Brussels co-hosted the webinar “AI as a Career Co-Pilot: Practical Strategies for the Next Generation”, attended by over 100 participants from EU Member States and EU candidate countries. The session addressed practical uses of AI in career development, communication and decision-making, with a focus on AI literacy and its ethical and responsible use.

ECE Brussels is also involved in EU-funded programmes and capacity-building initiatives, including the Erasmus+ project “AI Navigators”, which promotes critical thinking as a key competence for digital readiness. The organisation contributes to communication and visibility activities, training delivery, and stakeholder coordination and engages in policy-related discussions and cooperation with EU institutions, including the European Commission and EU Delegations, as well as with international organisations and national authorities.

Through these engagements, ECE Brussels contributes to EU-level discussions on AI literacy, democratic communication, digital transformation, and the EU integration process.
