How Do We Learn, Work and Communicate in the Age of AI? ECE Brussels at the Education and Career Fair 2026

On 27 February 2026, the European Centre of Excellence (ECE Brussels) will participate in the Education and Career Fair 2026 in Skopje, contributing to a central question shaping the future of education and employment: How do we learn, work and communicate in the age of artificial intelligence?

Bojan Kordalov, Director for Policy and Communications at ECE Brussels and Senior expert in Strategic communication, EU visibility, digital transformation and AI literacy, will lead an interactive session focused on the profound transformation artificial intelligence is bringing to learning environments, professional pathways and public communication. The session will be moderated by Aleksandar Nikolovski from Studentarija.

The Education and Career Fair brings together universities, academies, companies and career development actors in a space designed to help young people make informed decisions about their future. For secondary school graduates, students and young professionals, such platforms are increasingly important as career trajectories become less predictable and more technology-driven.

Artificial intelligence is no longer a distant innovation. It is already influencing how students prepare for exams, how companies recruit talent, how institutions communicate and how societies process information. In this context, AI literacy is emerging as a core competence. It is not limited to technical skills, but includes critical thinking, ethical awareness, responsible use of digital tools and the ability to distinguish between automation and human judgement.

From a European policy perspective, the conversation extends beyond individual career success. Across EU Member States and EU candidate countries, digital transformation and technological sovereignty are shaping education reform, labour market policy and democratic resilience. Young people entering universities and workplaces today will operate in environments where AI tools are embedded in everyday processes. Understanding these systems is therefore essential for employability, but also for active and informed citizenship.

The European Centre of Excellence (ECE Brussels) advocates for treating AI literacy as a foundational skill within modern education systems. Strengthening this competence contributes to long-term competitiveness, supports alignment with European standards in digital governance and enhances trust in institutions navigating technological change. Engaging directly with students and young professionals at the Education and Career Fair reflects this strategic commitment to connecting policy debates with practical realities.

The interactive session will explore how artificial intelligence is redefining communication, reshaping professional expectations and influencing the relationship between technology and human decision-making. Rather than focusing on fear or speculation, the discussion will centre on responsible adaptation, skills development and opportunities within a transforming European landscape.

The Education and Career Fair 2026 will take place on 27–28 February at Skopje City Mall, with free entry for all visitors. The interactive session “How Do We Learn, Work and Communicate in the Age of AI?” will be held on 27 February from 13:45 to 14:15.
