ECE Brussels contributes to discussion on North Macedonia’s EU accession at LYMEC 2024

The European Centre of Excellence (ECE Brussels) contributed to the Liberal Hack 2024 event organised by LYMEC – European Liberal Youth from Brussels. The event took place in Skopje and brought together young representatives from across Europe to foster teamwork and innovation, while also addressing key European policy issues.

As part of the programme, Bojan Kordalov, Director for Policy and Communication at ECE Brussels, participated as a speaker in the session “North Macedonia’s path in the EU enlargement process”, held on 8 October 2024.

The discussion provided participants with insights into North Macedonia’s journey towards EU membership, focusing on the political, economic, and cultural dimensions of the country’s EU accession process. The conversation explored both the progress achieved and the challenges that remain, while also reflecting on the broader context of EU enlargement policy and its relevance for EU candidate countries.

Held in an informal setting before the evening dinner, the discussion encouraged an open and engaging exchange between the participants and the speaker. Bojan Kordalov highlighted the importance of effective communication in building public support for the EU integration process and stressed the role that young leaders and civil society actors can play in promoting European values and fostering constructive dialogue on enlargement.

ECE Brussels is pleased to have contributed to this dynamic event, which aligns with the Centre’s mission to support EU integration, promote youth engagement, and strengthen cross-border dialogue between EU candidate countries and the wider European community.

The Centre looks forward to continuing its cooperation with European youth organisations and to participating in future initiatives that foster inclusive debate and innovative approaches to key European challenges.
