The European Centre of Excellence team was invited and took part in the CEV Spring Volunteering Congress 2025, held from 1 to 3 April 2025 in Mechelen, Belgium. The Congress gathered key actors from across Europe to explore current trends and opportunities in volunteering and civic engagement.
The event featured high-level contributions, including remarks by Hadja Lahbib, European Commissioner for Equality, Preparedness and Crisis Management, who underlined the value of volunteering in strengthening solidarity and resilience across European societies.
During the Congress, ECE Brussels actively engaged in discussions and bilateral meetings focused on planning the upcoming Balkan Conference on Senior Volunteering, scheduled for October 2025 in Skopje. The conference will contribute to advancing regional cooperation on volunteering and will promote the role of senior volunteers in building more inclusive and resilient communities.
