Bojan Kordalov, Director of Policy and Communication at ECE Brussels to contribute to Women’s Empowerment in Tech at WITCON 2025

On 22 November 2025, ECE Brussels will contribute to WITCON 2025, a leading regional conference organised by Women in Tech and dedicated to strengthening the role of women in STEM, digital professions, and emerging technologies. The event will bring together more than 450 participants and over 65 speakers from across Europe, creating a platform for discussion on the future of technology, innovation, and artificial intelligence.

Representing ECE Brussels, Bojan Kordalov, Director for Policy and Communication, is scheduled to speak on the importance of ethical and inclusive digital transformation - with a particular focus on ensuring that women and girls have equal access to digital skills, AI literacy, and opportunities in the evolving technology landscape.

Supporting Women in Digital Transformation

Promoting gender inclusion in digital transformation is a cross-cutting priority for the European Centre of Excellence. ECE Brussels works across Europe and the EU candidate countries to advance good governance, responsible innovation, and inclusive civic participation. Within this mission, digital and AI literacy for women and girls remains essential for building equitable and resilient societies.

Through its ongoing projects and partnerships, ECE Brussels continues to:

  • Support initiatives that open opportunities for women in STEM and digital careers.

  • Promote inclusive and ethical approaches to AI and emerging technologies.

  • Strengthen women’s participation in policy, research, and community engagement.

  • Provide mentoring and guidance to young women and civil society on digital, media, and AI literacy.

ECE Brussels also contributes to networks and EU-level working groups that explore how technological change impacts society and how to ensure that underrepresented groups can fully participate in Europe’s digital transition.

Women in Tech as a Cross-Cutting Priority of the European Centre of Excellence

Gender inclusion and women’s empowerment are embedded in ECE Brussels’ broader work on digital transformation, youth participation, media and AI literacy, democratic development, and strategic communication. Across its activities, ECE promotes gender-responsive digital policies, accessible learning opportunities, and the creation of safe and inclusive digital environments.

WITCON 2025 will provide an opportunity to reaffirm these commitments and engage with experts and practitioners advancing women’s leadership in technology and innovation. ECE Brussels looks forward to contributing to the discussions and supporting initiatives that empower women and strengthen their role in Europe’s digital and democratic future.
