The European Centre of Excellence (ECE Brussels) contributed to the WITCON 2025: AI, Tech & Innovation Conference, held on 22 November in Skopje, bringing together international and regional experts to discuss the role of artificial intelligence, digital skills and innovation in shaping Europe’s future.
Bojan Kordalov, Director of Policy and Communication at ECE Brussels, spoke on the paneltitled "Communications and Marketing in the Era of AI - Women’s Empowerment in a Digitised Future: Bridging the Digital Divide and Ensuring Inclusive Innovation”. Representing ECE Brussels, he addressed the importance of safe, ethical and accountable use of AI, and the need to strengthen digital and AI literacy as a core competence for citizens, institutions and societies.
During the panel, Kordalov emphasised that Europe’s approach to AI must combine innovation with responsibility, noting that the EU is preparing for an AI future where ethics, accountability and competitiveness develop together with technological progress. He also underscored that empowering women in technology and digital leadership is crucial for improving ethical decision-making, reducing bias and enhancing the quality of public communication.
“We cannot raise safe citizens with unsafe digital and AI skills. The future will not be decided by algorithms, but by the people who understand them, question them and use them with integrity” — Bojan Kordalov, ECE Brussels
