On 29 September, the European Centre of Excellence (ECE Brussels) participated in the official launch of the AI Navigators e-Learning video series, an initiative that brought together educators, policymakers, and digital experts from across Europe to explore how artificial intelligence can enhance teaching and learning.

The launch event marked an important milestone in building AI literacy among teachers, who play a vital role in shaping how the next generation interacts with emerging technologies. The AI Navigators series, developed under the broader European effort to strengthen digital readiness in education, provides practical, easy-to-use resources that empower educators to understand and apply AI tools responsibly and creatively in their classrooms.

The event consisted of a pane debate with experts led by Svetoslava Stoyanova, a Project manager from New Mindset Coaching & Training SRL (NMCT Belgium). Other panel speakers: Bojan Kordalov, Director for Policy and Communications i the European centre of Excellence (ECE Brussels), Jakim Nedelkov (President of SONK Syndicate, North Macedonia), D-r Julian Petrov (President, Syndicate Education Podkrepa, Bulgaria), Dr. Lachezar Afrikanov (New Bulgarian University, Bulgaria), Jelena Pavlovic, PhD (Founder of "Koucing centar", Serbia), and Ivana Čoko (Trainer at Maksima, a Croatia Erasmus+ Courses in Split, Croatia).

Bojan Kordalov, Director for Policy and Communication at ECE Brussels, focusing on the topic of critical thinking and communication in the AI era, underlined that “education systems across Europe must not only teach about AI, but also teach with it. The ability to use, question, and understand AI will define the quality of learning in the years ahead. That’s why building AI literacy among teachers is one of the most important investments we can make today.”

“AI literacy for teachers is no longer optional, but essential for empowering students to succeed in a fast-changing world. By equipping educators with practical tools and critical understanding, we ensure that technology remains a force for inclusion and inspiration in the classroom.”, emphasised Kordalov on behalf of ECE Brussels.

Participants of the launch gained access to the first video in the series and accompanying learning materials, which demonstrate real classroom examples of AI use in teaching, curriculum planning, and assessment. Subsequent episodes will be released in multiple languages, broadening accessibility for teachers across the continent.

The discussions at the event revealed a shared vision among educators and experts: AI should complement, not replace, the human role in education. It should be used to foster creativity, critical thinking, and inclusion—values at the heart of European education.

ECE Brussels, as a policy and communication partner in several European education and digital transformation initiatives, is proud to contribute to this forward-looking collaboration. The organisation remains committed to advancing AI literacy, digital transformation, and responsible innovation in education and beyond—ensuring that teachers and students alike are equipped to navigate the digital era confidently and ethically.
