On 29 April 2025, ECE Brussels actively contributed to the AI4Youth Multiplier Event organised by Connect International in Brussels - a key moment in the project’s effort to promote youth-centred AI policies across Europe. The event marked an important milestone in the AI4Youth project, presenting the project’s policy recommendations aimed at Safeguarding Young People’s Education and Employment in the AI Era.
The recommendations were developed through extensive research conducted by the AI4Youth consortium (Connect, Backslash, BUM), supported by a wide consultation process with young people, youth workers, AI experts, institutional representatives, and civil society actors.
The event opened with the official presentation of the policy recommendations, which highlighted both the opportunities and the challenges that AI brings to the fields of education and employment for young people.
Following the presentation, a panel discussion explored how AI is shaping online and offline environments, its impacts on young users, and how to ensure that the ongoing digital transformation remains human-centric and rights-based.
Bojan Kordalov, MA, Director for Policy and Communication at ECE Brussels, contributed as a panelist, sharing perspectives on the importance of embedding digital youth rights into AI policies and ensuring that AI literacy is an integral part of youth education and civic engagement. His intervention also highlighted the need for stronger cooperation between EU institutions and EU candidate countries in promoting inclusive digital transformation.
ECE Brussels remains strongly committed to supporting initiatives that advance AI literacy, protect youth rights in the digital space, and foster ethical and inclusive AI policies. The Centre will continue to contribute to the AI4Youth project and other European efforts to promote safe, empowering use of AI among young people.
