SJACOB Theatre, ECE Brussels and DE: NOVO launch strategic cooperation to promote youth Media literacy and Digital democracy
Šentjakobsko gledališče Ljubljana (SJACOB Theatre), DE: NOVO INTERRACTA and the European Centre of Excellence (ECE Brussels) have entered into a strategic cooperation agreement to support the realisation of the newly approved EU-funded project “Pulse of Change: Youth voices shaping media and democracy”. The project is part of the Pulse Z initiative led by JA Europe and co-funded by the European Union. As project coordinator, SJACOB Theatre will oversee overall implementation, including logistics, outreach, reporting, and coordination with JA Europe.
Through this collaboration, ECE Brussels will contribute to the design and implementation of the project's training and mentoring components, which aim to enhance media and digital literacy, foster civic storytelling, and promote youth participation in democratic dialogue. Drawing on its extensive expertise in digital transformation, communication, as well as AI and media education and literacy, ECE Brussels will engage a qualified senior EU expert to support the delivery of these activities. DE:NOVO INTERRACTA will provide expert support which focuses on youth-led advocacy and visibility. The organisation will contribute to the planning, coordination, and delivery of advocacy and visibility actions, to the development of digital visibility materials such as short videos, testimonials, and behind-the-scenes content, and the facilitation of youth outreach to promote digital democracy and responsible media creation. The cooperation reflects a shared vision between three organisations to empower young people to think critically, create responsibly, and contribute actively to shaping public discourse in Europe. The partnership has been formalised through a Memorandum of Understanding, marking the beginning of a broader commitment to cooperation on projects that promote youth engagement, digital education, and innovation across the cultural and civic sectors.
